The Deadly Poison Sugar

The more I learn about sugar, The more it scares me. The sugar industry is hiding many secrets to us that we don’t know. They are psychologically suppressing us towards it. Have you ever looked at the nutritional table of our food we buy?. Most of us wouldn’t. sugar is a food which doesn’t have any nutritional value in it.

Sugars are added to every 100% of processed foods we eat.Coca-Cola,Pepsi,Chocolates,Biscuits,Icecream etc. The Food industry is a billion dollar industry, It cannot be achieved without sugar. Sugar is the basic ingredient used in 99% of processed food.

The food industry Itself asks before manufacturing its product, What makes the people crave for their product? The exact amount of Ingredients in the product is called as the bliss point.

Do you know What is Bliss point?

Screenshot (522).png
BLISS POINT

Bliss point is a quantity of consumption where any further increase would make the consumer less satisfied. Bliss point (food), the amount of an ingredient such as salt, sugar, or fat which optimizes palatability.

For example, Do you Drink coffee with sugar or water?

First, We mix some amount of coffee with some amount of milk. If the milk is not enough for coffee, we add some more milk. then we add a correct texture of sugar towards it. Now it gets perfect(bliss point). Now we add some more milk and sugar towards it. The coffee gets horrible(Now its away from bliss point).

Everybody in the food industry wants to sell more and earn more. But How do they do it and scale it? They add little sugar.HaHA!! Coca-Cola has lots of sugar,40gms a can.

The more excess we consume sugar, It leads to a big belly. We Indians have this principle: 1 belly for one family=Happy family, HAHA!! just kidding.

Let’s have a look at the evolutionary shape of the human body

unreliablefo
EVOLUTIONARY CHANGES IN SHAPES OF HUMAN BODY

It has changed a lot. Back in 1980’s, we used to blame obesity because of the dietary fat, But later after research, It seems to be because of sugar.

THE MORE SUGAR YOU EAT, THE MORE  SICK YOU ARE GONNA BECOME

sugar is the most poisonous empty calorie food. Sugar is made up of two molecules of glucose and fructose. When it circulates in our body. The glucose feeds directly towards our muscles and brain. The fructose goes right towards the liver, Where all kinds of the problem begin when we eat in excess. When we eat the excess amount of sugar, the liver has no other way,it can only convert it into liver fat.

FAT CONTENT BETWEEN IN A & B, B has more internal fat(liver)

THE MORE FAT directly proportional to METABOLIC DISEASE.

Where all are these sugar leading to?OBESITY which further leads to chronic diseases, heart disease, cancer, etc.

2 Days of Blindness

During the 4th semester of our undergraduate major, On the month of January, We went for a 2 days industrial visit towards Cochin and Alleppey. On Friday afternoon 3pm, we started our journey from college and arrived at  Cochin at around 10pm. In between, we had an awesome dinner. We were allocated respective rooms in the lodge for staying. I had a  great sleep that night. On the next day morning, we pre-planned to go to Seroo IT solutions, Cochin. At morning after an awesome bath and breakfast with a joyful face, we left for the company. We reached the company by 10am and left at 12pm. After the company visit, we left towards our lodge and had an awesome lunch. After the lunch, we took a 1- hour rest. At evening, we had planned to go to Cherai beach.

CHERAI BEACH,COCHIN

Who doesn’t love going to beach? With full of enjoyment and shouting in the bus we finally reached Cherai beach. We were super excited to play in Cherai beach. I am the guy who wears spectacles with eye power of -3.5 in both the eyes. While going to play in the water,I didn’t think about the safety of my spectacles. I went to play with my spectacles in my eyes, while playing for 5 minutes in water One of my friend jumped in a joy in my sideways, suddenly his hands hit my spectacles and my spectacles fell of in the beach. I was terrified at that time without glasses in my eyes. I couldn’t see anything(the beautiful beaches and sceneries). Still, 1 and a half day left to leave from Cochin to  Coimbatore. I being an avid explorer of new places and being a travel enthusiast ,My feelings and dreams to enjoy and explore the beautiful places shattered into darkness. Then I kept on asking myself Why did this happen to me? I didn’t expect these kind of things happening in my life at that time. It’s all fate, then I spent my next day like almost a blind person(I have short-sightedness). We went to disco night in boating,I also danced in the boat ,Imagine how will your life be? If you were forced to close your eyes for 2 days and keep moving to different places with friends, you can psychologically understand me. Then night we came to our  room and had dinner. After dinner everybody was chatting happily in the hall. I without spectacles stayed lonely in my room . I had a severe headache during those time without spectacles. Had spoke to my mom with phone and had bad sleep that night. On next day morning ,We planned to go to Allepey boathouse for boat riding in the boathouse.

These were the places which we went, But I couldn’t see any of these pictures directly. Everything was captured by my camera. I felt as my presence in the Industrial Visit was a big waste of time. Then after boating, we left for Coimbatore.

This Industrial visit taught me the power of the human eye. When I thought about this incident, one person came to my mind HELEN KELLER, THE GREAT POWERFUL RESILIENT WOMEN

Those who may not know Helen Keller, Helen Adams Keller was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree.

MY JOURNEY TOWARDS FITNESS

It all started on the evening of Christmas, December 25, 2017. My weight at that time was 79kg. I was obese, overweight, lazy, strengthless and a boy with a big belly. I couldn’t concentrate much on my studies and unable to focus on my studies due to my very close relationship with obesity. During those times,I had very bad eating habits .I eat chat items and bakery items(kalan, bhel puri, pani puri, masala puri, vadai, bajji etc) almost everyday.I can’t live without aerated drinks without a week. One biscuit packet every day including this, I used to eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, evening snacks,Horlicks/boost in morning and night, I used to eat sweets weekly once and still more. On that day, something strikes my mind, Am I doing right things to my body? I had this concept in my mind that, I should do something to better myself for future progress and healthy lifestyle. On December 25,2016 Eve 7pm, I made a decision that I need to change, I started running from our home(Nehru Nagar) to Sitra airport(up and down distance 6kms). after completing my day 1, I felt quite happy with the start I had. From that day onwards, I become very obsessed with losing weight.

From day1 to next3 months, I ran every day consistently without even missing a single day. Everyday evening, I used to run in front of the main road. Many roadside people used to watch me because I was the only guy running in the road HAHAHA!!. In the beginning, I felt quite uncomfortable and insecure. But that time I said to myself

THINK ABOUT THE BIG PICTURE

I made my thinking focusing on bigger picture instead of small things. Little by little, Day after Day, My uncomfortable feelings due to running on the road got reduced. Initially, I didn’t get any results, after 2 weeks I started getting visible results in my body.

THE LITTLE RESULTS MOTIVATED ME LIKE A DRUG TO BE CONSISTENT AND MOVE FURTHER

At the end of 3 months, I almost lost 12 kg of body weight.WOW!pretty good number. Many people have misconceptions about losing weight, Only after losing weight, we come to know that, It is very easy to lose weight. I could see a rapid change in my body. I was very happy about that. I could see visible results in my body. After this, Whenever, I go to college, Many of my friends used to say, You became lean Aswin, enough of reducing weight, Don’t do more than this. Whenever these people say these golden words, My face will blossom with a smile towards them

dreams.metroeve_smile-dreams-meaning.jpg

Then after few days, I stopped running, Because now I am already getting lean. If I am going to run further, I will still lose weight and will transform myself towards a skinny guy.HAHA! Who needs to be a skinny guy? Then I transformed my workout routine towards gym and HIIT. My favourite exercises in the gym are deadlift, squats and bench press. With little knowledge of nutrition and workout, we can transform our body from 0 to greatness.

GOOD THINGS TAKES TIME,BE PATIENT

Looking back, It is one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Working out makes us travel towards a new world of happiness. It’s not about how much hours we workout a month, It’s all about being consistent.

COLLEAGUES AT COMPANY

From next day onwards ,I  started my work as an intern at the company. I was  excited to be as an intern and to learn new things. On day 1 itself,I became friends with everybody in the office. Being the youngest in the company,I can exactly be myself,No need to worry about mistakes and anything like that. For first few days,I didn’t understand what was happening in the office, but after few days,t I got to know about the projects We are working in the office. Work life is more different from college life. Teamwork and leadership quality plays a major role in the company. Every day at 11.30 am we go for a snack break outside,we used to drink fruit juices everyday and tender coconut due to Chennai’s hotness. Being in Chennai ,I have tasted every common fruit juices in the planet. After drinking fruit juice we will go to the company and do our work on projects.lunch time were at 1 pm and evening snack time were at 4.30 pm. Our break timings is the time when our relationships and bond  between people had grown closer and more stronger. I got to observe Chennai and learned a lot from the Metropolitan city. I love Singara Chennai because of its lifestyle where we have a lot of beaches, temples, shopping malls and famous ancient places. The most of the Tamil movies will be taken in places like Tambaram, Besant Nagar, T.nagar, Nungambakkam, Adyar. I have seen all those places. Chennai being a Metropolitan city and  a place of many big and beautiful buildings,I got to think myself about the future. By the way, our office is located in one of the most important places in Chennai, Anna Nagar. Anna Nagar is a place where famous government officials like High court judge, commissioner of police and IAS officers used to live. Chennai is also famous for its metro, local trains, beaches and malls. Due to heavy traffic in Chennai,we have local trains from place to another for every 5 minutes. On one Sunday evening  my brother and I  went for Besantnagar beach.WOW! what not to say,who doesn’t love beaches right? During evening time most of the people who come to beaches are couples HAHA!! We were gazing at them. Got some bath in beach. It is very beautiful place to have a good chat with loving people in the front of cool breeze in beach.we can get access to almost 100’s of small food shops where we can buy and eat whatever we want.after some beach time we had our dinner at Murugan idli (famous for varieties of idly and dosa)shop at 10pm ,It is one of the famous shops in Chennai.we had awesome dinner and reached home by 11pm by bike. If we have bikes we can travel to all the beautiful places looking at the sceneries and amazing nightlife.

After several weeks,During my last before day on June 6,So I planned to explore  maximum places I can. On June 6 afternoon I completed my internship and made some memorable friends. But what not? My return ticket to Coimbatore was on June 8,So i planned to explore maximum places I could. On June 6 afternoon I was planning a visit to the famous  Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Mylapore, I left the company at 3pm from Anna Nagar and departed towards the Kapaleeshwarar Temple.I went through auto and local train. From Anna Nagar main to Nungambakkam, I went by share auto, By the way, since  I have only one chance at that time in auto, I strike a conversation with 3people in the 30 minutes journey and got to know about the city and life. It was an  awesome experience. I love speaking to stranger,I consider it as a one kind of mental adventure. By the way ,I arrived at Nungambakkam railway station

NUNGAMBAKKAM RAILWAY STATION

As soon as I arrived at Nungambakkam  Railway station, Ramkumar – Swathi murder incident came to my mind and I observed and explored the railway station and got a 5rs ticket and took travel from Nungambakkam to Mylapore station and walked towards the famous Kapaleeshwarar Temple.WOW! It’s an awesome temple. Got some spiritual silence and boost ,Got free prasadam and sat for few minutes and observed everything about whats happening in the temple. With spiritual energy, I left the temple with happiness

The time was 6pm. This reminded me ,We still have the time to go home and then I took my journey towards the second longest beach in the world,Marina beach.WOW!During evening time, Marina Beach reminded me the History of Tamil Nadu especially by seeing the memorial of our former CM  Bharat Ratna M.G.R  and Jayalalitha and the pride of Tamil Nadu which I learned at our Tamil Book during our school days. I am avid admirer of almost every great things. Spent some 45 minutes in Marina Beach and left to Mylapore railway station and my train timings was at 8pm, so I had Mylapore tea and picked up my train. It was a one-hour awesome journey, spoke to 2 college students and 1 elder men about their life at Chennai and also introduced myself to them. The train was fully congested due to population of people who were going to home after long work. After 40 minutes ,the congestion got reduced and I am standing at the end of the door feeling  the cold breezy wind gush through my face,It’s an awesome feeling right ? During night time and I got down at villivakkam railway station. Bought an Ice cream and with licking  ice cream,I went to home by a happy walk and had a good sleep. On may 7 mornings,I woke up at 7am, the  last living day at Singara Chennai.I had a plan to go to IIT Madras ,to see one of the elite institutions of the country.I haven’t travelled through metro train before.I travelled by metro train from Anna Nagar to Guindy and then took an auto to reach IIT Madras.Had a wow factor ,OH! GOSH!! we are at IIT,That time I thought If I came here during my school days,I would surely got into the IIT. During my childhood,I did not have exposure towards going places like this. After IIT Madras, I went to Guindy National park, Had a visual treat there and went to Gandhi Mandapam and took a rest by plugging in headphones and listening to old Tamil songs like Uyirum neeyePudhu Vellai Mazhai – Roja,Chak De India,Jai Ho Slumdog MillionaireAfter a few minutes of Daydreaming in Gandhi mani mandapam and went back to home at night. The last night at grandfather’s home wow! I ate chicken with chappati as my dinner. The last night was quite sleepless night, felt quite sad, spoke with brother for a long time about life and many other topics like cinemas, actors etc. On June 8 morning, I departed by morning train at 6am and reached Coimbatore at 1.25 pm. Even after reaching Coimbatore, My mind was completely immersed in Chennai. I forgot entire Coimbatore and places, then little by little memories of Coimbatore came back. My memories are still alive.

LEARNING HOW TO LEARN?

learning-1 (1).jpg            Being    an inquisitive kid, I always love questioning things happening around.“WE BECOME WHAT WE LEARN” Am I right? I believe A construction worker becomes a construction worker because he learns construction, A prisoner becomes a prisoner because of his learning about society. We all admire people who are intelligent and creative.

I being an avid reader and obsessed with watching documentaries. So, I used to read a lot of online blogs and watch a lot of documentaries. After watching it,I feel happy because I have learned something new. But after a span of month. Do you know what happens to me? I forget all those key concepts  that I learned before. Then I used to ask myself,Why the hell am I reading? If I am going to forget it. So I googled about it. Then this MOOC course arrived in the first link of my browser. Learning How to Learn: Powerful mental tools to help you master tough subjects by the University of California, San Diego. The awesome classes were taught by Barbara Oakley & Dr.Terry Sejnowski. I thought at that time,Do we need to take MOOC course on learning? But I gave a try,It was very valuable to me. It is the world’s most taken MOOC course with a review of 4.8/5.Eh Baby!! I am not kidding.

I will summarize the knowledge, which will be helpful for rest of our lives. Learning new subjects like programming, music, sports etc is all about repetitions of learning. Which do you consider the best way to learn?

  •  Is it learning 5 hours a day once a week for a month OR
  • Learning 20-30 minutes every day for every day for a month.

As per research and studies.2nd method is the best method which will benefit us in being good at a subject. Our learning should mainly focus on quality and productivity.

MEMORY:

  • LONG TERM MEMORY
  • SHORT TERM MEMORY(working memory)

Long-term memory is like storage warehouse is produced by repetitions at least a few time for eg: we know the formula (a+b) the whole square better than (a+b) the whole cube. Isn’t it? it’s because of repetition.

“REPITITION IS THE MOTHER OF SKILL”

IMPORTANCE OF SLEEP IN MEMORY

  • When we sleep our brain shrinks. This causes an increase in space between brains cells and sleep helps in washing out toxins easily and keeps it clean and healthy.
  • More toxins lead to less thinking
  • Less sleep leads to more toxins to more disease

WORKOUT

An interviewer once asked Richard Branson, He founded the Virgin Group, which controls more than 400 companies.

“Richard, how do you stay so productive?”

Richard:“I work out.”

That’s it. No weird smoothies, supplements, or mind hacks. Work out.

  • Excercise gives birth to new neurons in the brain and strengthens brain memory.
  • working out increase your focus and productivity vertically
  • Excercise improves our memory and ability to learn and remember more.

CHUNKING:

  • the compact information you learn by smaller bits of information and increase it day by day, instead of cramming entirely in one day which helps in long-term memory.
  • Then unite bits and pieces of information by revising the subject (music, programming, sports)every day.
  • Start doing very small things every day.

“DONT JUMP INTO WATER BEFORE KNOWING SWIMMING”

  • Stop overlearning.

THE IMPORTANT THING

  • our focus should be only on the process of learning and solve it and not on outcome.
  • give yourself some rewards after completing the task like eating an ice cream or calling to a friend over the phone.
  • Pomodoro technique is best to kill procrastination

“BE PATIENT GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME”
